Robert originates from Metlakatla, Alaska and has developed the roots of his art from his culture of his Tsimshian people. His art has been developing since his beginning in 1994 when he created his first piece.  Although he considers himself a contemporary artist you have the sense of the strength of his traditional roots in his works. Robert currently resides in Southern California where his art has been received very well. His mediums are cedar and alder the traditional wood of his people, textiles in the creation of wall panels and ceremonial robes and regalia, limited edition prints and original paintings and is currently developing his talents in silversmithing-watch for some jewelry in the future.
