both cheeks of this yarn mask. A corn stalk graces the nose, and two Deer-men, representing the Shamans, dance on the forehead of this mysterious visage. Deer are considered as brothers
by the Huichol people, while the bird symbolizes Tety werika wuimaire, worshipped by all Huichols as their mother. She is the one who listens to their prayers and helps them when in need.
Huichol yarn masks are created from the visions and dreams of the artist. They bring alive the world of Huichol shamanism and the gods and goddesses of creation - Grandfather Fire,

masks are carved from parota wood that are covered first with beeswax. Then individual strands of multi-colored yarn are skillfully pressed into the wax. Integrate pattern of symbol
